According to Forbes Vietnam's list, the total value of the 40 most valuable brands in Vietnam is over $8.1 billion in 2018, increasing more than 30 per cent compared to last year.
The majority of enterprises in this list operate in the real estate, telecommunications, banking and consumer goods. The top 3 brands are Vinamilk valued at $2.28 billion, Viettel at $1.39 and VNPT at $416 million.
In 10 most valuable Vietnamese brands, Vingroup accounts for two with Vinhomes (5) and Vingroup (7) with total value of these brands at nearly $700 million. Another brand of Vingroup is Vincom Retail which ranks 14 with a value of $91.6 million.
Other brands in the top 10 are Sabeco, Vinaphone, Masan Consumer, Vietcombank and FPT.
This is the third time that Forbes Vietnam has made the list of 40 most valuable brands in Vietnam and this year, there are a lot of positive changes.
The group of companies in consumer goods still occupies large quantities but the finance and banking group has narrowed the gap as more and more banks have been listed on the stock exchange.
In addition to three old brands of technology-telecommunications sector, there are two new outstanding representatives, namely VNPT and Vinaphone.
According to Forbes Vietnam, this list was made based on methodology of Forbes business magazine, calculating the brand's contribution to the company's business performance.
After making a preliminary list of more than 80 branded enterprises, Forbes Vietnam calculates pre-tax income and interest, then determining the contribution of intangible assets with the support of Viet Capital Securities, which based on financial report of companies on the stock market.
