The travel time of the container block-train from Nanchang to Hanoi will be shortened by 11 days when compared to seaborne shipping, and is only half the cost of highway transportation.
The train consists of 33 40-foot containers, face-lifting trade in goods between the two countries. After the first pilot run, the two sides will organize one train trip a week and then increase up to three trips a week.
The train route results from the operation between China Railway (represented by China Railway Container Co., Ltd) and Vietnam Railway (represented by Rail Transport and Trading Company - RATRACO).
VNR said that it would continue opening more trains from Vietnam to other cities of China in the coming time. The two sides are making efforts to connect with customers to organize transit goods trips from European and Central Asian nations to Vietnam through China and vice versa.
