Hai Phong calls for FDI capital of US$500 million in four key transport projects

In the period from 2016 to 2020, four key projects calling for FDI capital include Nguyen Binh Khiem - Vu Yen island road tunnel project, split-level junction project of Ho Sen, Rao Bridge 2- Nguyen Van Linh, Hai Thanh Bridge (on the Ring Road 3), section from provincial road No.353 to Tan Vu - Ben Lam intersection, according to Hai Phong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center.

In particular, the split-level junction project of Ho Sen, Rao Bridge 2- Nguyen Van Linh belonging to two districts of Le Chan and Hai An has an area of six hectares and a total investment capital of US$17 million.

Previously, Ho Sen – Rao bridge 2 project which connects Hai Phong city center with two centers of Le Chan and Duong Kinh districts (phase 1: Section from bridge Rao 2 to Nguyen Van Linh junction) has been completed. Phase 2 of the project is the construction of section from Nguyen Van Linh street to T-junction of Con market.

The project has a special significance, synchronizing the structure of the city's transport system in the direction of North-South. In addition, the project will promote the exploitation efficiency of two roads of Pham Van Dong and Cau Rao 2 and the entire Ho Sen - Rao 2 route and reduce the traffic flow for Cau Dat - Lach Tray - Rao bridge route.

The investment and construction of the project are basically in accordance with the master plan for construction of Hai Phong city to 2025, vision to 2050, creating conditions for exploiting the land fund on both sides of the road, attracting investment and contributing to the socio-economic development of Le Chan district and the city.

The second project is Nguyen Binh Khiem - Vu Yen Island road tunnel in the area of Hai An and Thuy Nguyen districts. The road tunnel project has a length of 350m and is built with 4 lanes. The project has an area of 8.1 ha and investment capital of US$180 million.

Upon completion, the project will shorten the travel time from Hai Phong city center to Vu Yen island, contributing an important part in the socio-economic development strategy of the city.

The third project is Hai Thanh Bridge (on the Ring Road 3), section from provincial road No. 353 to Tan Vu - Ben Lam intersection in the area of Duong Kinh and Hai An districts. The project is five km long with 12 lanes. The project has an area of 40 hectares with a total investment capital of US$135 million.

Finally, Ben Lam Bridge project is located in Hong Bang and Thuy Nguyen districts. The project has a length of 1.3 kilometers and is built with 10 lanes. The project has an area of 6 ha and an estimated investment capital of US$160 million.
