Leader of Bac Lieu province grants investment certificates to investors.

At the conference, there were 10 projects granted investment certificate and 20 projects granted investment license, many of which are large-scale renewable energy development and aquaculture projects.

Some major projects can be named as the 400-ha solar power plant and aquaculture projects located in Long Dien Dong commune, Dong Hai district.

The solar power project was signed between Bac Lieu provincial People's Committee and Korea-based SY Panel Group in September 2017, with a total investment of over VND10.2 trillion (US$450 million).

The construction of the project will be divided into two phases. The first phase will have a capacity of 50MW, while the second will bring the capacity up to 300MW.

On January 30, Bac Lieu province also kicked off the construction of a hi-tech agricultural park, a large-scale complex to develop high-tech shrimp farming.

The Vietnam Australia Group is one of the biggest investors of hi-tech shrimp farming model in Bac Lieu province. Its high-quality shrimp production complex is located in Giong Nhan village, Hiep Thanh commune, Bac Lieu city.

The hi-tech agricultural park project will cover a total area of 315ha with a total investment capital of around VND1 trillion (US$44.1 million). The high-quality shrimp production complex includes a breeding area, feed processing plant and hi-tech shrimp farming greenhouse and shrimp processing factory for export.

Once it is put into operation, the project will offer more than 2,000 jobs to local residents. Average yield is expected to be 120-300 tons per ha a year with a stocking density of 500 breeds per square meter.
