3,500 units of automobile imported to Vietnam last week
Automobiles imported to Vietnam last week were mostly manufactured in Thailand with 2,307 units and Indonesia with 735 units.
Statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs shows that last week (from November 16st to 22th), the total number of automobiles imported to Vietnam decreased slightly by up to 35.6 per cent compared to the previous week.
Last week, Vietnamese automobile enterprises imported to Vietnam 3,473 units of automobiles with the total value of about $73.7 million. Whereas, the previous week experienced the import of 2,535 units worth $51.1 million.
Automobiles entering Vietnam last week were mostly manufactured in Thailand with 2,307 units and Indonesia with 735 units. Vietnam also imported vehicles originating from other markets such as Japan, China, and Mexico.
Automobiles imported to Vietnam last week were mostly cars with nine or fewer seats with 2,995 units worth about $56 million, up to 60.8 per cent higher than the figure for the previous week. These vehicles accounted for 87 per cent of the total number of imported automobiles.
These cars were mostly manufactured in Thailand with 1,927 units and Indonesia with 735 units. There were also 235 units of this type imported from Japan, 44 units from Mexico and 24 units from Germany.
There were also 16 units of over nine-seater automobiles imported to Vietnam last week from Thailand. Last week also experienced 373 units of imported trucks with a total value of about $11.7 million, including up to 364 units from Thailand, five units from Indonesia and only one unit from China.
In terms of special-purpose vehicles, Vietnamese enterprises imported 53 units with a total value of $5.6 million, more than half of which came from China and some of them were manufactured in Turkey, South Korea, Japan, and Italy.
