VND3,200 billion for expansion of Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat Airport

Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will allocate more than VND 6,000 billion (US$264 million) to upgrade Vietnam airports in 2017.

Along with conducting a study on the feasibility of Long Thanh International Airport, ACV continues to upgrade the infrastructure of 6 other airports in 2017.
The total investment capital of these projects reaches VND6050 billion (US$264 million), including:
The project of international terminal expansion (2nd phase) and jet parking space expansion (21ha) in Tan Son Nhat International Airport accounts for the largest in total investment – about US$88 million;
The project of T1 terminal repair and jet parking space expansion comprises about US$52,7 million;
The project of building a VIP guest house and upgrading jet parking lots in front of the international terminal of Da Nang International Airport for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2017comprises about US$6,6 million;
The expansion project of passenger terminals, jet parking lots to expand the capacity of Phu Quoc International Airport to 5 million passengers a year costs about US$88 million;
The expansion project of Phu Cat Airport’s passenger terminal to increase its capacity to 2 million travelers a year costs about US$22 million;
The expansion project of passenger terminals and jet parking lots of Chu Lai Airport costs US$8.7 million;
Last year, ACV allocated US$4,500 million for investment on Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong), Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) and the 1st phase of Tan Son Nhat International Airport expansion project. Notably, a large amount of investment capital was allotted to build and expand numerous auxiliary works of Da Nang International Airport for APEC 2017.
ACV isa joint-stock company with State-ownedcontrolling stakes, which manages 22 airportsnationwide. Last year, this enterprise earned US$466 million of revenue and US$119million of profit. In 2017, ACV sets the goal to increase the revenue by 30%and boost the profit by 33%.
