Vingroup Joint Stock Company (Vingroup) has officially announced its participation in the field of higher education with the establishment of a new, private, non-profit Vin University (VinUni).
In a recent press release, Vingroup stated that VinUni, based in Hanoi, is expected to start the construction in 2018 and officially receive applications from students for the first course in 2020.
VinUni will focus on education and training in three key fields of Business, Technology and Health Sciences.
VinUni has made the specific plans for strategic cooperation with some of the elite universities named in the world’s 20 best universities, especially Ivy League schools such as Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania.
In the cooperation with the world's leading universities, all training programs of VinUni are aimed at achieving the international quality standards. The university is geared to meet the world’s ranking and classification standards in higher education such as Quacquarelli Symonds, Times Higher Education, etc.
According to Vingroup, students will be given the best opportunities to study with professors and lecturers from the top prestigious universities, research institutes and hospitals, as well as access to state-of-the-art education technologies, simulation equipment system and laboratories.
Besides, VinUni will create the best conditions for students to experience the education at international universities and to intern in the member companies of Vingroup and other leading companies in the country.
After the success of the interlevel Vinschool model, VinUni will be a private, non-profit university of Vietnam established on international standards and integrating the world’s elite models of higher education.
Prior to that, the Prime Minister approved the Scheme on the establishment of VinUni. The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to coordinate with the relevant ministries and agencies in appraising the Scheme in accordance with the provisions of law on investment, construction, education and training and related legal provisions. The appraisal results then will be submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
