Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry is preparing in order to send 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Vietnam to help people overcome the aftermath of the floods.

According to information from Sputnik, Russia's MCHS IL-76 air plane is ready to fly to Vietnam with 40 tonnes of humanitarian assistance including tents, food and power generators.

President Putin met with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov on the situation of damage caused by typhoons and floods in Vietnam.

There were at least 69 people died and 30 people missed after Damrey flood in the Southern Central provinces from November 4. Nearly 115,000 houses were collapsed and approximately 1,300 fishing vessels were sunk.

Damrey flood swept through Southern Central provinces at the time when APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders' Week is taking place in Danang.

As plan, Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Vietnam to attend APEC summit but he is unlikely to visit Hanoi.
