Tubudd receives investment from TheVentures fund
With the 6-digit investment from TheVentures (South Korea), Tubudd, a Vietnamese startup connecting international travelers to buddies, decided to rebrand with a new goal and mission.
During the two years that cross-border travel activities were disrupted due to Covid-19, Tubudd focused on technology development and the domestic market by optimizing costs and training for the buddies.
With those efforts, when Vietnam reopened after Covid-19, Tubudd successfully raised capital and received a round seed investment from TheVentures - an investment fund from South Korea.
In 2022, with the investment, Tubudd decided to rebrand with a new mission and goals based on the core value of a platform to connect international travelers to buddies.
The new version of the startup would spend 40 per cent of its resources to create a more transparent and safer connection for international entrepreneurs coming to Vietnam to seek investment opportunities or expand the market. The opportunities are also for Vietnamese business buddies with excellent language and profession. The remaining resources would continue to be devoted to tourism-related activities.
Annie Vu, co-founder of Tubudd said that the company has developed based on the capability of the Vietnamese. Currently, Tubudd has 900 local friends in 40 cities and 12 countries around the world with 700 friends in Vietnam. Tubudd is also a development partner of tourism startups such as Tripbtoz, dichungtaxi.com, and ADDI Global,... to provide comprehensive travel services to customers.
“Therefore, in this new chapter, Tubudd clearly defined its mission to become a community for talented young Vietnamese, helping them to have an environment and opportunities to promote their own ability and take over their own life”, said Annie.
Tubudd also has plans to categorize and standardize this new job into 6 groups: The Adventure Buddy, The Lifestyle Buddy, The Art Buddy, The History & Culture Buddy, The Business Buddy, and The Medical & Beauty Buddy.
From this mission, Tubudd encourages young people to learn foreign languages, understand the locals, improve their problem-solving ability, and set goals to become specialized buddies in the future.
