Toyota Vietnam recalled more than 20,000 cars

The Vietnam Competition Authority announced a recall program for check, repair and replacement of air pump packs of front passenger airbags on the Toyota Vios and Toyota Yaris.

In September 2014, the agency received a report from Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) about the recall program to check, repair and replace the airbag assembly of front passenger airbag on Toyota Vios that was produced and assembled by TMV and Toyota Yaris that was imported and distributed officially by TMV.

Based on the information provided by the TMV, the Vietnam Competition Authority announced the recall program to check, repair and replace the air pump assembly of front passenger airbag on Toyota Vios and Toyota Yaris.

Specifically, 20,015 cars were recalled including 18,138 Toyota Vios of which the number is NCP93L-BEMRKU, certificate number is 400/VAQ07-01/07, 399/VAQ07-01/07 and 398/VAQ07-01 / 07, production days are from January 05, 2009 to December 29, 2012 and 1,877 Yaris cars of the type NCP91L-AHPRKM and NCP90L-AHPRKM that were imported during the period from September 1, 2009 to August 31,2012.

The sales agents of TMV will check and replace the entire airbag assembly in the front passenger airbag of Toyota Vios and the affected Toyota Yaris for free.

The recall program lasts from August 26, 2017 to August 21, 2020. This program is applied in all sales agents of TMV.
