Tran Ba Duong, THACO’s Chairman has disclosed the plan in a re-launching ceremony of the BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands distributed by THACO in Viet Nam held recently in HCM City.
Duong said that BMW and MINI will not only be distributed in two large cities, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi but also in other cities and provinces such as Hai Phong, Nghe An, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Bien Hoa, Binh Duong, Can Tho, etc.
This is considered as a breakthrough of the BMW brand in Vietnam when it has justed entered partnership with THACO. Until now it had only five showrooms although it has entered Vietnam’s market for 20 years.
According to THACO’S leader, to the date, THACO has taken over a number of the former distributor’s facilities, machinery and equipment, including inheriting warranty and after-sales services such as two BMW showrooms at Long Bien (HaNoi) and Phu My Hung (HCM City), and a MINI showroom in HCM City. These showrooms are in normal operation.
MINI Showroom in Hanoi will be moved to Long Bien and opened to customers at the end of January 2018.
THACO has officially become the official distributor of BMW and MINI cars in Vietnam since January 01, 2018.
Previously, BMW Group Asia co-operated with Sime Darby Motors, a major investor in the Euro Auto Joint Stock Company in Vietnam. After 4 years, this cooperation ended on December 03, 2017.
