Swedish-based SOWAREEN expresses desire to invest in financial center in Van Don
The Swedish-based SOWAREEN corporation has proposed to invest in establishing the financial and insurance center in Van Don special economic zone, Quang Ninh province.
At the meeting with chairman of Quang Ninh People’s committee Nguyen Duc Long, the Swedish corporation expressed its capability and experience in the construction of financial and insurance centers in a number of countries.
In order to attract the most advanced technologies from international firms to Vietnam, the corporation has proposed to establish a joint venture in the field of real estate development in Van Don.
In addition, it also proposed to establish an operation business holding capital in the field of renewable energy in Van Don and factory models that are applicable nationwide as well as attract strategic international partners and investors providing financial services.
SOWAREEN is a company providing environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions combined with financial and capital management to produce equally sustainable economic cycles.
Earlier in April 2018, Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPP)’s chairman Johnathan Hanh Nguyen proposed to invest about $440 million in the non-tariff area in Van Don special economic zone in the 2018 - 2023 period.
Also, the three investors including Vision Transportation Group, Hai Dang Architectural Consultation and Construction Investment and Sunny World Property Development Corporation reported the ideas of developing three super projects having the total investment capital of $10 billion - $15 billion in Van Don special economic zone.
The three prrojects includes Mong Cai - Van Don high-speed railway, Hon Net - Con Ong deep seaport and industrial urban zone, and complex urban area in the north of Cai Bau island.
Leader of Quang Ninh said that he hoped SOWAREEN would continue studying and doing research in Van Don and have other working sessions with Quang Ninh authorities to produce an agreement in the development of the financial and insurance center in Van Don special economic zone.
According to the leader of Quang Ninh province, the locality is currently mobilizing resources to invest in the infrastructure of Van Don special economic zone as well as proactively establishing the socio-economic development planning and the general planning of Van Don special economic zone.
The establishment and adjustment of projects’ plannings, the approval of new investments in Van Don district have been suspended to focus on this progress.
