Starbucks Vietnam introduces member card and mobile payment system

TheLEADERStarbucks Vietnam has just introduced to customers across the market Starbucks cards which are used for its cashless payment system.

The company also announced the expansion of Starbucks Rewards with the launch of the Starbucks mobile app in Vietnam, providing a fast and convenient way for customers to pay at its nation-wide stores. 

This mobile payment experience was built on a rapidly-expanding portfolio of digital innovations across China and Asia Pacific region. 

To join or transfer to the upgraded Starbucks Rewards program, from November 10, 2018, customers can visit any Starbucks Vietnam store to activate and register the new card to their account.

By using registered Starbucks cards, customers can reload money, pay and earn stars easily. Besides core designs of the card, Starbucks Vietnam will introduce limited designs each season. 

Starbucks Vietnam mobile app for iOS and Android enables customers to quickly pay for in-store purchases by scanning the barcode linked to a registered Starbucks card. Customers can register multiple cards onto their account, all of which are seamlessly linked to the Starbucks mobile app. 

In addition to the mobile payment, members can easily track their card balance, star balance at their fingertips and find a store with ease.

"The exciting news is just the beginning of this Christmas at Starbucks. There are more coming your way," said Starbucks Vietnam's General manager Patricia Marques.

She added, "Our partners are excited to bring the best holiday experience to our customers this Christmas. We are pleased to release the Starbucks app which promises to offer a fast and convenient way to pay for purchases, earn stars and much more."

To celebrate the launch, any Rewards member who registers successfully to the new system will earn 10 bonus stars during November 10 to 30th, 2018. 

Starbucks opened its first store in February 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City. So far, it has officially 39 stores in four cities and provinces of Vietnam namely Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and Hai Phong. The American brand expects to launch successfully six more stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City by the end of this year.
