Quang Ninh calls for investment into infrastructure projects amounting to over US$3 billion in Van Don special economic zone

Quang Ninh has issued a call for investment in three projects in Van Don special economic zone, including an expressway, a general port and a tariff-free trading area. The total amount of investment needed is over US$3 billion.
The provincial Investment Promotion Agency (IPA), offers a few details on three projects below.
Northern Cai Bau port and urban zone project in the north of Cai Bau island. The project aims to build a general port with a total area of 700ha and a total investment capital of VND25,200 billion (equivalent to US$1.1 billion). The project is under investment form of PPP (private-public partnership) with 100 per cent of investor’s capital.
Non-tariff area - clean industrial park project in Binh Dan commune, Cai Bau island. The objective of the project is to build a clean industrial zone with special free tax policy (duty free) to promote advantages of an airport, to stimulate and promote investment in Van Don economic zone. Total investment is estimated at VND27,300 - 31,500 billion (roughly US$1.2 – 1.39 billion) with 100 per cent of investor’s capital.
Van Don - Mong Cai expressway project running through the areas of Mong Cai city, Van Don, Tien Yen, Hai Ha and Dam Ha districts. The project aims to build the expressway up to grade-A standard with four – six lanes, speed 80-120km/h and total length of 91km. Total investment capital is estimated at VND16,014 billion (equivalent to US$706.1 million) under PPP investment form.
Waste treatment plant construction project. Two plants with estimated treatment capacity of about 30.000m3/day and construction of waste drainage pipe system. The project is under investment forms of PPP, BOT, ODA with investment capital proposed by the investor.
