On October 06, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CCCPV) decided to discipline Nguyen Xuan Anh for "serious violations" by dismissing Anh from Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Member of Executive Committee of the Provincial Party of Da Nang city, term of 2015 – 2020 and Member of the 12th Party Central Committee.

Anh’s violations are serious, negatively affecting the prestige of the Party and annoying officials, Party’s members and the people.

On October 07, Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo Member - Secretary of the CCCPV - Head of the Central Organization Commission and his task force had a meeting with the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee. Recently, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has approved the Politburo's regulations on shifting officials, with the aim of creating long-term staff resources, especially key leaders in various branches and levels.

The regulation clearly stipulates that shifting officials will be in close coordination with the appointment of a number of key leaders at provincial and district levels, who are not the local residents in the province and districts they hold key positions. Besides, officials will not hold theirs positions more than two consecutive terms.

The implementation process of the regulations must be democratic and objective and prevent corruption, group benefits...

The Politburo requested that only leading officials will be shifted; officials who are disciplined and unqualified must not be shifted to the Central, local agencies or to other local agencies. The officials, who are shifted, must be young and qualified. The shifting period is at least three years (36 months) for a title.
