Nearly 3,500 units of automobile imported to Vietnam last week
Statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs shows that last week (from September 28 to October 4), the total number of automobiles imported to Vietnam decreased by 11.5 per cent compared to the previous week.
Last week, Vietnamese automobile enterprises imported to Vietnam 3,465 units of automobiles with the total value of about $65.2 million. Whereas, the previous week experienced the import of 3,915 units worth $70.9 million.
Automobiles entering Vietnam last week were mostly manufactured in Thailand with 2,122 units. There were also 952 units from Indonesia, 241 units from Mexico, and 111 units from China.
Automobiles imported to Vietnam last week were mostly cars with nine or fewer seats with 1,392 units worth $25.7 million, compared to 3,020 units in the previous week. These vehicles accounted for 40.2 per cent of the total number of imported automobiles.
These cars were mostly manufactured in Indonesia with 673 units, accounting for 48.3 per cent of the total number of nine or fewer seat cars entering Vietnam last week. There were also 608 units of this type imported from Thailand, 86 units from China, 13 units from Germany...
There was the only $6,941 over nine-seater automobiles imported to Vietnam last week from China, compared to the import of 135 units of this kind worth $4.2 million in the previous week.
Last week also experienced 1,817 units of imported trucks last week with the total value of $32.7 million, including up to 1,514 units from Thailand.
In terms of special-purpose vehicles, Vietnamese enterprises imported 255 units with the total value of $6.8 million. Most of these vehicles were from Mexico with 241 units.
