The effective and high-performance boards create significant values to company businesses in a sustainable manner. The board chairperson has a critical influence on a board’s style, its composition, balance and performance.

The role of the chairperson is going to become ever more critical in emerging market where independence alone is not enough.

The board chairperson has to know about the business, particularly in setting the board’s agenda and ensuring that the focus of the board’s work properly identifies and analyses strategic issues to the business and its oversight.

In fact, most Vietnamese businesses do not have a clear strategy and they are usually family - owned businesses in which the board chairperson does not focus on his main job. In addition, finding the successor for the board chairperson is also a problem.

Two famous guest speakers including Bob Arciniaga and Alan Hepbun will share with you on what high performance boards do differently from others; what composition and structure these boards should have and what skills boards members should have to be high performance.

The participants also have chance to know about how to engage board members to drive growth and profitability as well as best practices of effective chairperson and good succession planning.

Bob Arciniaga is the Founder and Managing Partner of Advisory Board Architects (ABA) which builds, maintains and manages “High Impact” advisory boards and boards of directors.

Alan Hepburn is managing partner for advisory board architects, Asia where he has been based for 33 years. He develops and operates high impact fiduciary and advisory boards for private and public companies across Asia.
