Ha Noi: FDI enterprises award highest Tet bonus up to over US$14,000 per employee

The highest Lunar New Year 2018 bonus (mentioned as ‘Tet 2018 bonus’ from here) in Hanoi belongs to the employees of foreign direct investment (FDI) businesses, up to US$14,333 each person.

Tet 2018 bonuses in Hanoi increase by about 8% over the previous year.

The Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs has just released a brief report on the bonus plan of the coming Tet 2018, based on the reports from 4,288 enterprises so far.

According to the report, average salaries for workers in many enterprises have been about 7-9% higher compared to 2016.

Regarding Tet bonus, it is expected to increase by more than 5.5-8% over the previous year.

Specifically, for one-member limited liability companies, the average Tet 2018 bonus is VND3.7 million (about US$163.2) per person, up 8.8% over the previous year. The highest is VND50.85 million (about US$2,242) per person, and the lowest is VND800,000 (about US$35) per person.

For enterprises in which the State holds the controlling shareholding or controlling capital contribution, the average Tet 2018 bonus is VND3.85 million per (roughly US$170) person, up 7% over the previous year. The highest level is VND30 million (about US$1,323) per person, and the lowest is VND600,000 (roughly US$26.5) per person.

For the private sector, the average Tet 2018 bonus is VND3.95 million (US$174.2) per person, up 5.5% over the previous year. The highest is VND60 million (about US$2,646) per person, and the lowest is VND650,000 (roughly US$28.7) per person.

For the foreign direct investment (FDI) sector, the average Tet 2018 bonus is VND4.6 million (about US$203) per person. The highest is VND325 million (about US$14,333) per person, and the lowest is VND700,000 (about US$31) per person.
