FLC enters into pharmaceutical and medical industry

The high-tech pharmaceutical complex project invested by FLC Group is expected to be built on an area of over 500 hectares in Van Don district, Quang Ninh province.

FLC Group’s Chairman Trinh Van Quyet had a meeting with Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien on plans to build a hi-tech pharmaceutical complex in Quang Ninh province.

The first hi-tech pharmaceutical complex in Vietnam is expected to be built in Van Don and divided into two subdivisions.

A 30-hectare subdivision is dedicated to research and development of pharmaceutical products and hi-tech medical equipment including research and development centre for pharmaceuticals and hi-tech medical equipment, quality control centre and training centre.

The remaining subdivision includes the main production area attracting investment from 30 to 50 factories which produce pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods and hi-tech medical equipment; logistics centre, warehouses, GSP (good storage practice) warehouses for export of medicines and pharmaceuticals.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH)'s Portal, the project will help attract investment from pharmaceutical giants in developed countries such as Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, Korea, Singapore.

At the meeting, Quyet asked Minister of Health to advocate the proposal on establishment of high-tech pharmaceutical complex in Van Don.

MOH's portal quoted Tien as agreeing with the FLC Group’s proposal and suggesting that the project "Hi- tech Pharmaceutical Complex in Quang Ninh " should be renamed "Hi-tech Medical – Pharmaceutical Complex in Quang Ninh". FLC Group was also requested to quickly complete details of the project to submit to MOH for review.
