First electric motorcycle model named VinFast Klara launched
Vingroup's VinFast has just held an inauguration ceremony of its electric motorcycle manufacturing factory which targets to be the most modern in Southeast Asia and launched the first model named VinFast Klara in Hai Phong city.
The first model was introduced in two versions. By the end of 2019, VinFast will launch four more models of electric motorcycle, covering the middle, high-end and even super advanced segments to meet the needs of customers.
In addition, the company also plans to launch three electric motorcycle models specialized for school age children in Vietnam.
VinFast Klara can cover 80 kilometres on a full charge and its maximum speed can reach 50 kilometres per hour.
Along with the launch of the first motorcycle model, VinFast also officially put its electric motorbike factory into operation which was built on the area of 6.4 hectares. It has designed capacity of 250,000 units per year in the first phase and will be expanded to produce 500,000 units in the second phase.
The capacity may be increased to one million units per year to achieve the target of being the most modern electric motorcycle manufacturing factory in Southeast Asia.
The fabrication process at the factory is fully automated at every stage, ensuring each product meet and even exceed the strictest standards of quality. The assembly process is carried out on modern lines imported from Japan, strictly controlled by 4.0 technology and cloud computing.
At the opening ceremony, VinFast also announced its the comprehensive ecosystem for electric vehicle including charge and battery rental station, cloud computing system with mobile application and authorized agents.
On October 25th, 2018, VinFast signed a memorandum of understanding with PetroVietnam Oil Corp. to build charging stations for its electric cars and scooters.
Vingroup said that the cooperation would help it deploy charging stations at 20,000 of PV Oil’s existing service stations in Vietnam in the next two years, which is a part of VinFast’s plan to launch 30,000 – 50,000 charging stations nationwide by 2020.
