The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) 2017 has officially been launched today (November 6th) with the two-day Concluding Senior Officials’ Meeting (CSOM).

The APEC 2017 Summit takes place in Da Nang from November 6th to 11th with eight major events, notably the Vietnam Business Summit, APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM), APEC CEO Summit and APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
APEC 2017 Summit was attended by leaders of 21 APEC economies, including America’s Donald Trump, China’s Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
The summit’s agenda will be related to the theme of "Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future" and four priorities of APEC 2017, which are promoting sustainable, innovative and inclusive growth; deepening regional economic integration; strengthening the competitiveness and innovation of micro, small and medium enterprises in the Digital Age; and enhancing food security and sustainable agriculture in response to climate change.
Also, APEC 2017 has the presence of leaders from leading corporations in the world and the region, demonstrating the close ties of APEC with the business community.
Yesterday, the fourth meeting session of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) was started at the Ariyana Conference Center, Da Nang. In this session, ABAC agreed on the proposals to be submitted to APEC economic leaders.
According to Hoang Van Dung, President of ABAC 2017, ABAC will focus on proposing three core issues directly affecting the region, which are promoting regional integration and removing protectionism barriers; support for small- and medium-sized enterprises in terms of finance and technologies; and the vision up to 2020 and beyond.
