ACCA to enhance learning quality for Vietnam future accountants

TheLEADERFollowing a February 2022 announcement, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) have inked a cooperation agreement to implement modules from ACCA’s Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business at UEH, placing UEH students on a fast-tracked path to success in their financial and accounting careers.

In our fast-changing, ever more digitalized world, the need for forward-thinking, innovative, and ethical finance and accounting professionals is more important than ever before. 

Sharing the mission to ensure the accounting profession continues to have a good reputation with a greater impact, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) signed a cooperation agreement to roll out 9 modules from the ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business into UEH’s “ACCA embeded accounting program”.

This means UEH students in “ACCA embeded accounting program” will have the opportunities to get ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business and Oxford Brookes University’s Bachelor Degree in Applied Accounting together with UEH’s Bachelor Degree in Accounting.

Moreover, the program students will only need to complete 5 more modules to accquire ACCA Qualification and become a certified professional accountant within a significantly shortened period of time. 

ACCA also recognizes the cooperation agreement as a meaningful way of connecting industry to the education sector – with UEH‘s ACCA embeded accounting program, students will be getting prepared for the working world, equipped with relevant skills to help the company they are to work for comply to both international and local practice and standards, while acquiring the knowledge and practical skills to do the actual related work.

Thus, besides building the body of knowledge for students, the ACCA - UEH programme will also give them the needed skills to deliver on the job across various sectors.”

The initiative between ACCA and UEH also aims to contribute to building competitive, competent, efficient and ethical finance and accounting graduates – the next generation of national finance and accounting professionals as well as developing the profession in Vietnam.
