48 Vietnamese companies named best workplace in Asia

The enterprises have made it to the 2019 winners list of HR Asia – Asia’s most authoritative publication for senior HR professionals, for their best practices and inner workings.
Vietjet Air has been named one of the 50 best companies to work for in Vietnam
The names appear on the list vary from sector to sector, with notably many in the finance and banking cluster, including ACB, Bao Viet Life Insurance, BIDV Metlife Life Insurance, HDBank, Manulife, Mekong Capital, SHB, Prudential Vietnam Assurance, Shinhan Bank Vietnam, Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and VPBank.
Various airlines and e-commerce businesses have also been handpicked this year. They include Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, Southern Airports Services, Lazada Vietnam and Tiki.
Consumer goods and food and beverage product companies including Unilever Vietnam, La Vie LLC, Pan Group, Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group, Heineken Vietnam, Olam Vietnam, and Amway, likewise, have been crowned among Asia’s best companies to work for in 2019.
Real estate developers Novaland Group and Sun Group, professional services provider Deloitte Vietnam, fast-fashion clothing company H&M Vietnam, elevators and escalators manufacturer Schindler Vietnam, and some others have also been included in the champ list.
This year, awardees were selected from a pool of 300 nominees across 20 industries, based on proprietary research that assessed the company’s working environment, HR practices, employee engagement and job satisfaction. In 2019, thousands of employees across Vietnam responded to the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Survey. HR Asia, a publication of Business Media International, developed this proprietary survey in consultation with a team of senior industry practitioners and leading thought leaders.
Heineken Vietnam, for the second consecutive year, has been honoured as one of the best companies to work for in Asia for its impactful programs that continue to empower its employees.
According to Leo Evers, managing director, of Heineken Vietnam, its business success was very much due to its commitment to its people. “Our employees are the person to build the company’s working environment for themselves.”
In 2018, Heineken invested VND31 billion ($1.35 million) in developing its people. These investments are said to be a testament to the firm’s commitment to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
Being one of the winners, Vietjet Air managing director Luu Duc Khanh said: “Our company’s greatest asset is our employees, and thus, we take great pride in creating a work environment and culture that fosters success. Vietjet’s success depends on the individual and team performance of all employees and this award is especially exciting as employee survey form part of the evaluation. We will continue our commitment investing in employee well-being and engagement in order to ensure our further success.”
