VinFast has announced that it received orders for 17,214 cars last year for three models, namely Fadil, Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0. During the year, it produced 15,300 cars.
The company plans to add two crossover models in 2020 in addition to special deluxe version Lux SA V8.
VinFast will also launch electric buses to fully cover all market segments and beyond 2021 it expects to export electric cars to the American market.
On the safety issue, both Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0 models achieved 5-star certificate from ASEAN NCAP - a prestigious automobile safety rating program, while Fadil achieved a 4-star certificate.
Since it lauched the first Klara in November 2018, VinFast has added three other electric scooter models namely Ludo, Impes and Klara S.
Across last year, VinFast had received orders for 50,000 electric scooters last year and it was able to produce 45,118 e-scooters.
Nguyen Viet Quang, Vingroup vice president and CEO said: “VinFast is determined to produce high-quality and top-class Vietnamese brand vehicles, which will be able to fairly compete with other international producers.”
Currently, all VinFast’s electric motorbikes and cars are produced in a 335-hectare production complex in Haiphong city.
The complex is designed with total cacapity of 250,000 cars and 500,000 bikes a year.
