On the meeting with Michiaki Hirose, President of Japan-based Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd (Tokyo Gas), the PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his delight at the corporation between Tokyo Gas and PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) in liquefied natural petroleum gas (LNG) sector in Vietnam.
Similar to other countries, the demand for LNG in Vietnam is very high, especially in cities and coastal areas because it is environmentally friendly. PM believed that with good partners and environment and high demand, Tokyo Gas will archive successes in Viet Nam.
The PM said that Viet Nam’s Government’s view is to develop a synchronized and efficient gas industry through the promotion of domestic resources and the strengthening of international cooperation.
Prime Minister suggested that during cooperation in LNG, especially the project of LNG terminal at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port, in case of any difficulties, Tokyo Gas should work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade for settlement. The Vietnamese government always protects the legitimate interests of foreign investors, including Japan.
For his part, Michiaki Hirose said that in the coming time, Tokyo Gas will strengthen cooperation with PV GAS and hoped that the Vietnamese Government will support this cooperation. The President expected that together with its Vietnamese partner will build LNG at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port and make it the most modern facility in this field in Vietnam.
