Maersk expands northern Vietnam operations with first bonded warehouse
A.P. Moller–Maersk has launched its first bonded warehouse in Vietnam, situated in the SLP Park in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Haiphong.
The bonded warehouse aims to meet the growing logistics needs of Northern Vietnam, a region seeing increased import-export activity from local and international businesses.
Strategically located near Haiphong’s seaport and connected to Maersk’s fulfillment center and Lach Huyen terminal , the new warehouse is expected to streamline supply chains and reduce costs for Maersk’s clients. The facility offers duty-free storage, advanced inventory management, and accelerated shipping to support businesses operating in the region.
The warehouse, designed for efficiency, features high-tech sorting and barcode systems, automated inventory control, and energy-efficient lighting to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
Its first client, Amazon Vietnam, will begin using the facility in October, leveraging Maersk’s bonded warehouse services, domestic fulfillment, customs handling, and in-land transportation solutions.
The launch of this facility highlights Vietnam’s growing role as a logistics hub for Southeast Asia, attracting significant foreign direct investment. Maersk’s expansion aligns with this growth, positioning the company to support and enhance the region’s logistics capabilities while contributing to the local economy.
