Korean firm proposed to invest in 100 hectare project in Soc Trang

TheLEADERA project on growing organic mango in combination with garden tourism and solar power application on an area of 100 hectares has been proposed by the Narai Organic Farming Corporation, a South Korean firm.

According to Soc Trang Province’s portal, the delegation of South Korea has recommended the Government of Soc Trang Province to approve, support and facilitate the Narai Organic Farming Corporation of South Korea to invest in planting organic mangos in combination with garden tourism. and application of solar energy, on an area of 100ha.

The project is expected to be located in My Phuoc subdivision in My Tu district or Phu Loi forestry plantation in Chau Thanh district.

Mango trees are expected to be grown on an area of 50 hectares in the first stage of the project. In the second stage of the project, the mango trees area will be expanded in combination with exploiting and developing tourism as well as applying solar power technology.

However, after thoroughly considering the project, the provincial authorities said that it has not met the criteria set out such as project objectives and financial capacity. Also, investors have not made any commitment to infrastructure investment and social security support.
