Intracom opens long-delayed hospital

By Giang Linh February 25, 2019 | 09:50 PM GMT+7

The hospital is expected to help reduce the current overload of the state-owned hospital in Hanoi.

The hospital boasts modern facilities

The Oriental Hospital has just been opened in Hanoi after a long delay.

Developed by Intracom, the first phase of the hospital features 250 beds that for the first time in Hanoi will have VIP and presidential suites.

The project was first tabled by South Korean company Jukjin Holding in 2005 with the aim attract foreigners who are working and living in Vietnam so that they won’t have to fly to neighbouring countries for treatment. It also aims to lure high-income Vietnamese who currently prefer Hong Kong or Singapore for medical treatment.

However, only the construction ceremony took place in the same year and since then hardly a brick had been laid on the hospital.

Intracom then took over the project from Jukjin but could not start construction for many years as it faced difficulties in site clearance.

Intracom, which have developed a number of residential properties in Hanoi and hydro-power factories in northern Vietnam, have finally managed to clear the site and get the hospital off the ground.

The hospital covers an area of 9.5 hectares in Co Nhue ward, Bac Tu Liem district. Once fully completed, it will have 1.000 beds and be able to cater to 6,000 patients every day.
