APEC Vietnam 2017 will be held in Da Nang, Vietnam from November 6th to 11th with the participation of Leaders in 21 member economies and tens of thousands of officials, business leaders and reporters.

It marks the second time Vietnam will be playing host to the APEC after the first one in 2006.

First, it reflects the common interest of APEC member economies in finding "new dynamism" for integration, linkage and economic growth in Asia-Pacific.

Second, it shows the long-term goals of APEC and Asia-Pacific on "fostering a shared future" - peace, stability, development and prosperity.

Third, it expresses the expectations of new achievements in 2017, helping strengthen the position of APEC in the new context.

APEC was established in 1989 with 12 member economies. After four times of enlargement in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1998, APEC currently comprises 21 member economies, representing 39% of the world population, 57% of the total GDP and 47% of global trade (2014).

The current APEC economies include Australia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Chile, Peru, Russia and Vietnam.

Here is some information on the 21 APEC economies, according to World Bank 2016 data:
