Grab launches hotel booking service in Vietnam
Grab customers in Vietnam can now book hotels from Agoda and later Booking.com, directly on their Grab app platform.

Ride-hailing service app Grab has announced its addition of hotel booking service for its Vietnamese customers, to its current list of services including transport, payment solutions and food delivery.
Accordingly, Grab users in Vietnam will be able to book their accommodation right on the Grab app platform, starting with Agoda and Booking.com at a later stage, for the lowest available hotel deals.
Earlier last month, Grab introduced four new services of hotel booking, on-demand video streaming, ticket purchasing and trip planning, to its app in Singapore. These services are going to be launched from April to June, in partnerships with Agoda, Booking.com, HOOQ and BookMyShow.
Grab’s advancement into multiple sectors did not come as a surprise as it has indicated its ambition to become the region’s dominant super app following its venture into food and mobile payments in the past years.
According to Jerald Singh, group head of product and design at Grab, the launch of the hotel booking app is a clear demonstration of Grab’s commitment in bringing essential services to customers, being the leading super app in Southeast Asia.
The service, as Singh noted, will be accompanied by other services and preferential programmes like special hotel offers, upgrades, discounts and even travel insurance to come next.
Damien Pfirsch, vice president of strategic partnerships & programmes at Agoda, noted that the partnership with Grab will bring more convenience and new opportunities for customers, as well as make travel easier for travellers across Southeast Asia.
Grab’s hotel booking service has so far been launched in six countries, of which the Philippines and Vietnam are the latest markets to welcome the additional service.
In Vietnam, Grab has been operating its GrabCar, GrabBike, GrabFood and GrabExpress.
Grab is known to continuously diversify its services with the introduction of new ones that meet the rising demand of customers like GrabTickets, GrabBillsPay, GrabWheels and GrabKitchen.
