25-square-meter micro apartments recommended being built on margins of Ho Chi Minh city

Micro apartments sized 25 to 45 square meters have been proposed to be built on the margins and suburbs of Ho Chi Minh City.
A form of micro apartmentsIn a document sent to the Ministry of Construction, the Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association (HoREA) proposed considering the construction of 25 to 45 square meter apartments that account for only 20-30 per cent of the houses on the margins and suburbs of the city.
It also stated that the design standards for commercial and social houses must be suitable with the specific demand and condition of each locality.
Accordingly, adequately responding to the high demand for small commercial houses having 1-2 bedrooms which are affordable to all walks of life is very necessary in order to ensure the stable settlement for people and successfully implement the urban embellishment and development program.Therefore, HoREA has proposed promulgating the national standard on housing, including the design standard of commercial and social houses. Recognizing the detrimental impacts of massively developing commercial apartment sized under 45 square meters, the association recommended the construction of apartments with the minimum area of 25 square meters which must be in accordance with the state’s policies and regulations.
