Viettel Global is one of the biggest Vietnamese overseas investors.

Viettel Global's asset scale is over VND50 trillion (US$2.2 billion).

According to an announcement just released, in the first nine months of 2017, Viettel Global’s revenue reached nearly VND13 trillion (US$573 million), a 19 per cent increase year-on-year. Gross profit increased by 135 per cent compared to the same period last year from VND1,250 billion to VND2,933 billion (US$55 million to US$129.3 million).

In the third quarter, Viettel Global obtained revenue of VND4,227 billion (US$186.4 million), up 8 per cent over the same period last year. Gross profit increased significantly from VND463 billion (US$20.4 million) to VND 1,239 billion (US$54.6 million), equaling to a gross profit margin of 29.3 per cent.

In 2006, Viettel Group decided to extend its business to overseas looking for more potential markets. Viettel Global was established in October 2006 with a vision and responsibility of turning Viettel into a strong telecommunications group on international stage.

After nine years of development, Viettel Global is one of the biggest Vietnamese overseas investors. It is now operating 9 telecommunications companies in 9 countries across Asia, Africa and American with a total population of over 175 millions and 13 million customers. Its total revenue for 2014 was US$1.2 billion

Now, Viettel Group's profits from overseas investment will include the profits of Viettel Global and Viettel Peru (Bitel) - Viettel's 10th overseas market.

Due to legal regulations in Peru, Viettel must be the direct owner of Bitel. In the first half of this year, Bitel was the subsidiary which contributed the largest overseas profit (accounting to 40 per cent) to Viettel.

Thanks to the expansion of international investment and high market share in Vietnam, Viettel was listed among the 30 largest telecommunications corporations in the world.
