Top 10 prestigious pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam in 2017

TheLEADERReputation of the pharmaceutical industry is based on research on the influence of financial factors, the business image in the media and evaluated by experts in the sector, according to the latest Vietnam Report on results of pharmaceutical companies.

JSC Vietnam Assessment Report (Vietnam Report) has officially announced top 10 prestigious pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam in 2017.

According to this ranking, Traphaco and DHG are two businesses,which have strong financial strength and achieve the highest score of communication.

Experts also said that these are the two leading companies, positioning the brand on the pharmaceutical market of Vietnam.

According to financial statistics, Pharmaceutical TW 2 (Phytopharma) and Vimedimex are two leading enterprises in the top 10 sales companies, distributors, pharmaceutical business; equipment and medical supplies.

Besides, according to the feedback collected from the study subjects: pharmacist / pharmacy and industry experts, Phytopharma accounted for the highest proportion in selected distribution companies, pharmaceutical business, equipment, medical supplies.

Vietnam's pharmaceutical market is on track to grow quite optimistic. In 2017, the turnover of the domestic market is estimated at US$5.2 billion (according to data from Business Monitor International - BMI), an increase of approximately 10% over the year ago and is expected to continue double-digit growth over the next five years.

As the rapidly increasing population, per capita income increased, literacy improved, the demand for drugs will of the people is growing.

Per capita expenditures for drugs in Vietnam has increased from US$9.85 in 2005 up to US$22.25 in 2010 and this figure almost doubled in 2015.

The average growth in spending for drugs reached 14.6 per cent in annual for the period from 2010 to 2015 and remained increased at least 14 per cent per year until 2025. Moreover, spending for medicines per capita in Vietnam is forecasted to double to US$85 in 2020 and US$163 in 2025.

Pharmaceutical market is being evaluated as a "fertile soil" attracting many foreign investors, national corporations in the world, even the domestic investors operating outside the sector.

In 2018, the pharmaceutical industry is expected drastic changes with the participation of the big guns on the retail and distributed market such as Mobile World, FPT Retail, Digiworld, Nguyen Kim.

Besides, the massive entry of foreign pharmaceutical corporations in production in Vietnam such as Sanofi, Taisho and Abbott is creating considerable pressure for domestic pharmaceutical enterprises. Level of competition in the pharmaceutical market next year will be assessed more intense place on most market segments.
